Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. T. Cason killed on Battle Fields of France. The following telegram was received in Hartwell last Friday night at 9 o'clock by Mr. and Mrs. Ed. T. Cason; "Washing, D.C., Friday, June 21. "Ed T. Cason, Hartwell, Ga. "Deeply regret to inform you that Private George W. Cason, infantry, is officially reported as killed in action May twenty-eighth. "McCain, Adjutant General." George was the first Hart county boy to be killed in the present war. He enlisted in 1916, going to the Mexican border that year, returning east later and then went to France. He was 22 years old. He was a brave soldier and a good boy--the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. Cason, who have three other sons in the service. The bereaved parents and family have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
