Mr. Cochran was born April 9th, 1871, in Franklin County, a son of the late Matt and Louise Parker Cochran. He moved to Hart County in early life, and had lived there most of his life. He formerly operated a mercantile business in Lavonia, and served as a justice of the peace in the Shoal Creek District for 50 years. Mr. Cochran was assistant postmaster of the Parkertown Post Office for many years, and since early manhood had served as trustee and steward of the Providence Methodist Church in Hart County. He was also a trustee of the Shoal Creek School. Surviving are 3 sons, Dupree of Daytona Beach, FL, James, of Knoxville, TN and Bill Cochran of Toccoa; 2 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Providence Methodist Church in Hart County with Rev. H. B. Simms, pastor and Rev. Cullen Jones officiating. Burial was in Liberty Church cemetery in Madison County. Fred Northcutt & Son Funeral Home in charge. Additional Comments: 1st wife was Willie Trella Parker, b. May 31, 1882, Franklin County; d. Jan. 21, 1919 in Hart County. His 2nd wife, Sarah Agnes, was Willie Trella's sister.
