At lanta Constitution, 28 Apr 1925 
FATHER OF ATLANTANS DIES AT HARTWELL - D. N. Elrod, prominent  citizen of 
Hartwell, died Sunday at  his home in that city, according to news received in 
Atlanta Monday. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. He is survived 
by three daughters; Mrs. Leon Morris of Hartwell; Miss Lousie and Miss Annie 
Ruth Elrod of Atlanta, and two sons, Floyd and Newell Elrod of Hartwell. 

Additional Comments:
1910 census of Hart Co. shows household of Dock N. Elrod, wife Mamie C., and 
children Claudia B., 18, Floyd A., 17, Annie Ruth, 6, Louise, 4, and Newell 
A., 1 yr. 11 mos. Hart Co. cemetery records show D. N. Elrod, born 31 Jul 
1865, died 26 Apr 1925, and Mamie Gray Elrod, born 5 Jun 1878, died 6 Oct 
1916, wife of D.N., both buried Northview cemetery, Hartwell. Hart Co. marrige 
records show Dock Elrod and Susan Howell married 9 Jun 1878, presumably his 
first wife and mother of Claudia and Floyd.
