Hartwell, Ga., June 5 - Mrs. Elizabeth Hodges died at her residence here this 
morning at 8 o'clock. Death followed an illness of a week. She was in her 
seventy-fourth year. Mrs. Hodges is survived by two sons, J. H. Hodges, 
cashier of the Farmers and Merchants Bank, and Hon. Walter L. Hodges, judge of 
the city court, and Mrs. J. E. Linder. She was a sister of Hon. A. J. 
McMullan, Mrs. Susan Burris and Mrs. M. M. Richardson. She was a Christian 
lady and life president of the Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist 
church. Her funeral will occur Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. 

Additional Comments:
Hart Co. marriage records show Elizabeth McMullan and Frederick B. Hodges were 
married on 10 May 1859. Hart Co. cemetery records show Hon. F. B. Hodges, born 
29 Nov 1827, died 26 Feb 1899, and Elizabeth Hodges (no dates), both buried at 
Northview cemetery, Hartwell.
