H. MAGILL, FOUNDER OF NEWSPAPER, VETERAN OF CONFEDERACY, DIES - John H. Magill, of 415 North Boulevard, founder of the Hartwell Sun, died Saturday morning at a local hospital. He was 74 years old. Mr. Magill was born near Abbeville, S. C., and during the civil war he served in the South Carolina regiment. A few years after the war closed he moved to Georgia and founded the Hartwell Sun, and was connected with this paper for over forty years. He moved to Atlanta from Hartwell in 1913, and for the past three years his health had declined steadily. He was one of the most well-known men in the state. Funeral services will be held this morning at 9:30 o'clock from the chapel of H. M. Patterson and Son. Owing to the illness of his daughter, Mr. W. H. Crawford of Hartwell, interment will be postponed. Burial will be in Hartwell. He is survived by his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Asa G. Candler, Jr., and Mrs. Crawford, and Misses Winona and Louise Magill, and four sons, George T. Magill of Richmond, Va, W. W. Magill who is connected with the city electrician's office, and H.
