Mr. Jedediah Ayers, of Reed Creek district, died last Sunday. He had been in feeble health for some time, and his death was not unexpected. He was well known over the county, having been a justice of the peace for many years, and was respected by all who knew him. Uncle George McCurley, of Smith's district, died yesterday very suddenly of heart disease at the residence of his son-in-law. He was in apparent good health, and had that day driven to his son-in-law's (Hymer Skelton), a distance of some twelve miles from his home. He had just finished a hearty supper, when on rising from the table he fell down and breathed his last in a few minutes. He was one of the first settlers of Hart county, and his loss is mourned by all our people. Additional Comments: The Hart Co. cemetery book shows George McCurley, born 5 Mar 1805, died 20 Jun 1882, buried at the Cokesbury Methodist church cemetery; also that Jedediah Ayers(1798-1887)[note date should be 1882) is buried in the Jedediah Ayers family cemetery in Hart Co.
