Atlanta Constitution, 28 Feb 1913 
Hartwell, Ga., February 27 - Judge Angus Lofton McCurry died last night at his 
home on Benson street. The main trouble was a severe wound in his leg received 
in the battle of Chickamauga. Judge McCurry was wounded in this battle and 
remained on the battlefield all night within speaking distance of James 
Shiflet of Hartwell who was likewise shot through the leg. Neither was able to 
move to the other. Judge McCurry was tax receiver of Hart county for several 
terms and afterwards served Hart county as ordinary. 

Additional Comments:
Hart Co. cemetery records show Angus Loflin McCurry was born 17 Oct 1843, died 
26 Feb 1913, buried at Sardis Baptist Church cemetery.
