Asbury Goss McCurry, for thirty years one of the leading lawyers of northeast Georgia, died at his residence on Benson street, at 4 o'clock Friday morning. The funeral will be at home Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mr. McCurry was a native of Hart county. Owning at his death the Savannah River plantation, on which his father and he were born. He was an alumnus of the University of Georgia. He served many terms in the legislature. Mr. McCurry was 66 years old. He was the youngest of thirteen children. He is survived by one brother, A. R. McCurry, his widow, who was Miss Fannie N. Benson; one son, Julian R. McCurry; one daughter, Mrs. Eloise Hodges, wife of Hon. Walter Hodges, judge of the northern circuit. For twenty-eight years he has represented the Southern Railway company as assistant division counsel. He was attorney for Hart county, bank director of Hartwell Railway company, member board of trustees of Eighth District Agricultural school and grand trustee of the Royal Areanum of Georgia.
