Atlanta Constitution, 4 Jan 1905
Hartwell, Ga., January 3 - Rufus E. Oglesby, managing partner of the Oglesby 
Grocery company, of this place, died this week. He was interred in Hartwell 
cemetery Friday. Mr. Oglesby leaves a brother, Mr. Milton Oglesby, and wife 
and four small children. 

Additional Comments:
Hart Co. cemetery records show Rufus Oglesby, born 11 Apr 1871, died 27 Dec 
1904, buried in Northview cemetery, Hartwell. He was the son of Rufus Oglesby, 
Sr., and Saphronia M. Adams. He married on 1 May 1895 in Elbert Co. to Nettie 
McMullan. Census records show his children were McAlbin "Mack", Reese, Harman 
and Fay. His father Rufus Oglesby, Sr. had previously been married to Mary 
Eavenson on 11 Jan 1838 in Elbert Co., Mary being the daughter of George 
Eavenson and Mary Hilley. The brothers and sisters of Rufus E. Oglesby are 
shown in the 1880 Oglethorpe Co., GA census as Napoleon, Lucinda, Dora, 
Sophronia and Milton Oglesby.
