Williams, 84, one of Hartwell's most prominent pioneer citizens, died this morning. He was an ex-Confederate soldier, member of the 16th Georgia regiment, Cobb's legion. Mr. Williams has been closely identified with the religious and industrial life of Hartwell since its incorporation. He was a prominent member of the Methodist church and a steward for 40 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Meanda Thornton Williams, three children, Warren H. Williams and Mrs. Nimqui Smith, all of Hartwell; and Mrs. Thomas N. Carter, Westminister, S.C. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 o'clock. Rev. Homer Thompson will officiate. Additional Comments: Hart Co. cemetery records show James W.
