Will of Thomas Ray 08 Mar 1862 Hart County, GA Georgia } Hart, County } In the name of God Amen I Thomas J. Ray Jr, expecting soon to enter into the service of the Confederate states army & Knowing the hardships of a camp life & the exposure I may be subject to in the army while in defence of my countrys rights, deem it proper to dispose of what a Kind Providence has blessed me with in the way of prosperity. I do therefore make this my last will and testament. 1st Item - I desire & direct that all my just debts be paid. 2nd - I will and bequeath to my wife Mary Ann Francis [Skelton] my whole estate both real and personal during her lifetime, and at her death to be equally divided between our six children to wit, William E.,James A.,Livonia E., Thomas G.,Mary E., and John J., share and share alike. 3rd - I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Mary Ann Francis my executrix and my friend James E.
