GA Written: February 12 1838 Recorded: June 28 1894 Heard County, Georgia Deed Book 1 (Deed signed Feb 12, 1838 and re-recorded in June 1894) State of Georgia, Heard County February 12, 1838 - - Indenture between Rev. James Davis of the first part of aforesaid state and county and Trustees of the New Enon Meeting House of the second part, viz: William Davis, William Smith and Jonathon Hogue on behalf on the Baptist Church, Davis Hudson, John Wood and Thomas Hollingsworth on behalf of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and Wingfield Cosby of no church. For and in consideration of the love that said Rev. James Davis has to religion and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the peace of the Society North, this day has granted and conveyed unto the said Trustees and their successors in office a tract of land lying and being whereon the Meeting House now stands, bounded on the north by Mill Road and reaching south to include the Spring, N. Cosby's lands. To have and to hold so long as the meeting hosue is used by both denominations as a house or worship but in the event that both of the above mentioned denominations should abandon said house, the land to revert back unto said James Davis, his heirs and assigns. The first and third Sabbath and the Saturday before, the free use of the Baptists, and the second and fourth and Saturday before for the free use of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
