Nutt, widow of John T. Nutt Widow's Pension 1891 E.T. Nutt of Heard County, Georgia Affidavit to be Made by Widow State of Georgia, Heard County In person came before the undersigned Ordinary in and for the County of Heard, Mrs. E.T. Nutt who being sworn according to law says under oath that she is the widow of John T. Nutt who was a soldier in the service of the Confederate States and served as a member of Company I of the 41 Regiment of Georgia Volunteers; that he enlisted in said service on or about the 11th day of March 1862 and was in the Tennessee Army up to Oct 8 1862. That while in the Army he was on the 8 day of October 1862 shot through the bowels and died the next morning 9th on the battlefield; suffered very severely while he lived. Deponent further swears that she was the wife of said deceased soldier during his term of service in the army and that she has never married since his death; that she became his wife on the 2 day of May 1847, and that she has resided in Georgia continuously since her birth; that Georgia is her home and was such on the 23rd day of December 1890 and since said date she has not lived in any other State or locality. Deponent as the widow of said deceased soldier husband applies for the pension provided by Act of the General Assembly of Georgia approved Dec 23rd 1890 for the pension year ending February 15th 1892 and herewith tenders the proof of her right to receive the allowance granted by said Act. Crain, Ordinary Affadavit for Three Witnesses State of Georgia, County of Heard In person came before the undersigned Ordinary in and for said County, witnesses J.T. Baird, James Similton, Z.P. Almon and H.T. Almon each known to said attesting officer as truthful, reliable and reputable citizens who severally say under oath that from their own personal knowledge, Mrs. E.T. Nutt of the County of Heard, State of Georgia is the widow of John T. Nutt who was a soldier in Company I of the 41 Regiment of Georgia Volunteers. That said soldier enlisted in the service of the Confederate States on or about the 11th day of March 1862. That while in said service or by reason of said service in the Army, he lost his life as follows: Was shot through the bowels and died next morning 9th Oct 1862 on the battlefield; that he sufered intensely until his death at the Battle of Perrysville Ky. We further swear that Mrs. E.T.Nutt was the wife of said soldier during the service and that she has not intermarried since his death and that she resides in Heard County of the State of Georgia. Crain, Ordinary For Widow's Heretofore Allowed Pensions State of Georgia, County of Heard Personally comes Mrs. E.T. Nutt who being sworn says on oath that the is a bona fide resident of said county of Heard, State of Georgia and that she has resided in said state continuously ever since her birth, March 4th 1832; that she is the widow of J.T. Nutt who was a soldier in Company I of the 41st Regiment of Georgia Volunteers; that he lost his life on the 9th day of October 1862 at Perrysville Ky. He was shot and killed while in service of the army. Deponent swears that she was the wife of said deceased soldier during his servie in the army as a soldier, that she became his wife in the year 1847; that Georgia is her home and she has lived in any other state or locality. That she has been allowed a pension as a resident of Heard County for the year ending Feb 15th 1894 and now applies for the pension provided by law for the year ending February 15th 1896. Mrs. E.T. April 17, 1917 Application for Pension Due to a Deceased Pensioner Georgia, Heard County Personally before the Ordinary of said County comes J.B. Nutt of said County who after being sworn on oath says that he knew E.T. Nutt of said County and that she was on the Indigent Pension Roll of Heard County at the time of her death which occurred in Heard County in this State on the 1st day of April 1917 and that a pension of Seventy $70. dollars was due her and unpaid at the time of her death. That she left no dependent children surviving her and no estate of any value sufficient to pay funeral expenses which amounted to the sum of $46.90, as per sworn statement, itemized, hereto attached.
