Almon/Alman was the son of Jonathan Holston Almon and Delaney Taylor. He was born in Georgia, probably Heard County, about 1842. This would have made him about age 19 at enlistment into the CSA. His total enlisted from May 1861 till his death in Oct 1863, 2 years and 5 months. The record does not show his place of death. One could assume is was in Virginia, probably around Richmond.
