Jackson to the Georgia Electric Company, same being recorded in Deed Book 7 page 146 in the clerk's office of Heard County, Georgia, containing 60 acres, more or less. The above tract of land advertised to sell by A.T. Jackson, Administrator of T.J. Jackson, contains 60 acres more or less. To be sold as the property of T.J. Jackson, late of said county, deceased, and for the purpose of paying the debts and for distribution among the heirs at law. This 4th day of January 1943. A.T. Jackson, Administrator of T.J. Jackson, deceased. _______ The marriage of Miss Ida Mitchell and Mr. Charlie B. Johnston took place December 24th with the Rev. V.L. Bray officiating. The charming bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Mitchell, prominent residents of Corinth. Oscar Mitchell and Joe Mitchell are her brothers. Mr. Johnston is the son of Mrs. J.C. Johnston and the late Mr. Johnston, members of pioneer Heard County families. John C. Johnston Jr. is his only brother. Sincere good wishes of a host of friends go to this couple. ______ CORINTH Community News Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hasson and little daughter Virginia of Knoxville; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Meadows and children of Vidalia; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams and sons of Anniston, Ala; were with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Darden this week past. __ Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Robinson of Brunswick were here for a few days visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson. They were married recently in Brunswick where John Robert is employed in defense work. __ Mrs. Paul Randall of Atlanta, Mrs. Moreland Jackson of St. Marks, Mr. Geo. R. Berry of Clemson, S.C. and Mrs. L.J. Berry were the guests of Mrs. J.S. Jackson this week past. __ ROCKALO Community News Mrs. T.O. Yates recently visited her mother who is in a clinic. __ Mr. W.M. Culpepper passed away on last Monday and was laid to rest at Ephesus. __ FROLONA Community News Mrs. Melvin Johnson visited her brother, Fred Robinson and family of Harrisonville Sunday last. __ Rev. and Mrs. Charles Paschal of Claxton, GA, and Miss Edna Smith of Nashville, Tenn., visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Smith last week. __ Mr. and Mrs. Byrd Gay of LaGrange are visiting Mr. J.C. Janney and family and Mr. and Mrs. Zollie Gay. Byrd Gay leaves for the Army on Friday. ___ Pvt. Jasper Nation of Fort McPherson, spent last weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. V.M. Nation. __ Mrs. Paul Cherry and baby, Sheran Ann, returned to her home in LaGrange Saturday last after spending several weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Sheets. __ Mrs. Son Burson and children of Omaha, Ala., visited her daughter, Mrs. Huell Hill, Sunday last. __ Mr. and Mrs. Guy Noles, Mrs. Horace Noles and Macie Noles visited Mrs. Carlis Davis in Roanoke hospital Friday last. __ Pvt. Cornell Sheets of Battle Creek, Mich., is home on a 15 day furlough, being called home on account of the serious illness of his father, C.T. Sheets, who is an Atlanta hospital. __ CARD OF THANKS May we express our sincere thanks and appreciation to each of you who contributed in any way when our house burned. Hardy's children and grandchildren were home for Christmas. __ WARESVILLE Community News Brown Kitchens will leave for the Army next week. __ Mickle Wingo was at home from Fort McClelland last week. __ Mickle Arrington has been promoted to staff sergeant. __ Wesly Cooper is in the Navy at Norfolk and has been real sick. __ Tip Stephens was carried to the hospital this week, sufffering with appendicitis. __ Mary Williamson from Tennessee and her brother Charlie from Florida have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Williamson. __ The Victory Bus turned over and Mrs. Nell Mulky and Mrs. Carl Middlebrooks were seriously hurt and had to be carried to the hospital. __ Mrs. Elton Middlebrooks has returned from a visit to New Jersey to see her brother Buell. She also visited N.Y., Baltimore, Virginia and Washington. __ Mr. and Mrs. Carrie Evans from Milner visited Mr. and Mrs. Luke Almon at Christmas. __ Mr. and Mrs. I.E. Middlebrooks celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday Dec. 27th. Relatives and friends called in the afternoon and they received lots of nice gifts. __ Guy Shelnutt, who has been in Australia and New Guinea is at home for 15 days. He is the son of Sanford Shelnutt. __ HOME NEWS Mrs. Harry Niebruegge, Atlanta, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Owensby. __ Miss Joyce Mickle, Clarksville, Tennessee, is spending a few days at home. __ Mrs. M.J. Stephens, after spending the fall with her daughter, Mrs. T.H. Lipford, has gone to visit another daughter, Mrs. Gay Awbrey. __ Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Lee, Clarksville, Tenn., spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Lee. __ Mrs. H. J. Mickle this week received official notice of the death in action of her nephew, Lieut. E.Q. Martin, known here as Fox. He was a bombadier in the African Campaign. __ Mrs. Hal Hyatt, Dallas, spent last week with her sister, Mrs. Guy Atkinson. __ Corp.
