FRANK ROYSTON PASSES IN ALABAMA Mrs. Frank Royston, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J.L. Taylor, of Franklin, died Thursday of last week at her home in Roanoke, Alabama. She was reared in Heard county, where she had hosts of friends who had been drawn to her by her lovely life. The large and impressive funeral and interment was held in Roanoke on Saturday. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Miss Roslyn and Merilyn Royston of Roanoke, Ala.; parents, Dr. and Mrs. J.L. Taylor of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. G.H. Ridley, Mrs. J.T. Mickle of Franklin, Mrs. Turner Quinlin of Cartersville, GA; one brother, James W. Taylor who is in overseas duty. _____ CENTRALHATCHEE News Tonnie Adams is in the LaGrange hospital, but we are glad to report him recovering from pneumonia. Horace Adams of the Army was called home. ___ Mrs. Durwood Norwood made a trip to Atlanta hospital one day last week to have her leg treated. __ ROCKALO News Mary Thaxton and Mrs. John Thaxton spent a while with Mrs. Lipham at Frolona last Wednesday. __ Hutt South of Bowdon has been visiting his children, Mrs. Levi Noles and Mrs. Will Thaxton. __ EPHESUS news Cpl. Troy M. Daniel writes his homefolks often from the battle front in Belgium. __ Mrs. C.J. Laster has recently received two cards from Ralph. He said he was well and hoped to see them soon. He is interned at the Japanese prison camp at Fukuoka, on Housher island near Tokyo. ___ Nathan Teal entered service with the merchant marines Monday Jan. 21st. __ CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our deep and sincere appreciation to our dear friends for their kindness to us in our sorrow during the sickness and death of our beloved son, husband and father, Joel Stephens. Of the one we loved so dear, and because we too know that the god he loved we still can feel him near, someday we'll know the peace he knows, and again we'll hold his hand; someday we'll sing the song he sings in the christian's promised land. Middlebrooks is quite feeble. __ Mr. and Mrs. Buck Mooney and son of Franklin, spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Mooney. __ Mrs. Howard Adams is spending several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Whitley. ____ LOCAL News Mrs. P.T. McCutchen and family spent Sunday at Durand with her niece, Mrs. S.D. Clements, whose husband died early Sunday morning. Mrs. Clements was Miss Nell Hardy and as a young woman was a frequent visitor to Franklin. ___ Mr. Sam. R. Crain, Heard county native, died at his home near Newnan. He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. T.H.
