S.B. MILLER, 97, DIES AT CORINTH Mrs. Sally Brown Miller, widow of John I. Miller of Corinth, and mother of Thomas I. Miller, vice president of the Citizens and Southern Bank of Atlanta, died at her home in Corinth Sunday afternoon. She was 97 years old. Her father was one of the original settlers of Heard County. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3:20 at the Corinth Church conducted by Dr. W.M. Twiggs, assisted by the Rev. R.P Rowe. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery. Mrs. Miller is survived by two other sons, John I. Miller, Jr., also of Atlanta, and Harvey A. Miller of Corinth; four daughters, Mrs. W.P Arnold Sr., Mrs. J.S. Jackson, Miss Moreland Miller, all of Corinth; Mrs. W.F. Jones of Decatur; grandchildren, Mrs. Lillian Berry, Mrs. T.H. Randall, Henry J. Miller and Mrs. R.P. Overby all of Atlanta; William P. Arnold Jr., Mrs. M.H. Ochletree and Mrs. Bob McGee all of Hogansville; W.F. Jones Jr. of Dallas, Texas; Lowe Jackson of Chicago; Joe and Moreland Jackson of Hogansville; Jack Miller of Flint, Michigan; Mrs. Eben Hardie of New Orleans, and 17 great grandchildren. ____ FUNERAL SERVICES FOR W.L. ROGERS AT EPHESUS CHURCH William L. Rogers, age 64, died at his home in the Ephesus community in Heard County, Georgia early Monday following an illness of 7 months. He was born in Carroll County, Georgia on September 22, 1881, the son of Harrison Rogers and Elizabeth Copeland Rogers. He had lived in the community where he died for the past 31 years, moving there from Carroll County, Georgia. He had been a merchant in that community for 28 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Frances Holsomback to whom he was married December 6th, 1903. He leaves 5 sons, W.E. Rogers of Wedowee, Ala.; C.N. Rogers, H.E. Rogers and T.M. Rogers, all of Roopville; and Pvt. James B. Rogers, U.S. Army, Hamilton Field, Calif; 2 daughters, Mrs. T.O. Yates of Franklin and Mrs. B. Roberts of Roopville; 6 grandchildren, and 6 brothers; C.F. Rogers and G.F. Rogers of Roopville; O.L. Rogers, T.E. Rogers and R.W. Rogers of Bowdon and L.M. Rogers of Franklin; 2 sisters; Mrs. M.T. Brazeal of Roopville and Mrs. W.W. Traylor of Bowdon. Funeral services were held from the Ephesus Baptist Church on Tuesday at 2 p.m., with Elder L.H. Burson and the Rev. Guy Rogers officiating. Brothers were pallbearers.
