HIS MONEY STOLEN
Franklin, Georgia, April 16th

Afraid of banks, J.P. Shellnut, one of the oldest citizens of Heard County, 
kept $10,800. stored in a trunk. He kept the money in an iron box and the 
trunk locked but an ingenius thief unlocked the trunk, cut the bottom out of 
the box and stole the old man's accumulations of a life time.  The loss was 
discovered on Sunday when Mr. Shellnut went to his trunk to count the money.
