BOY KILLS HIS GRANDFATHER

Franklin, Ga., Nov. 23rd

?? V.S. Carrington, a notary public and prominent citizen of this county, 
well advanced in years, was shot and killed by his 17 year old grandson at 
the family home, 10 miles from Franklin, yesterday. The boy fled after the 
killing but was pursued by officials and captured this morning. He was 
brought to Franklin and lodged in jail. Mr. Carrington was shot in the back 
with a shotgun and instantly killed. Yesterday morning, it is said, he 
punished his grandson severely for some minor offense. This is the only 
known cause of the tragedy.
