LOCAL News

Mr. M.P. Pittman has received news of the death of his first cousin, Mr. MARTIN 
J. DAVIS, who expired the 13th of this month at his home in Gainesville, 
Texas.  He went there from Heard county in 1887.  He was regarded 
as one of the best of men by those who knew him.  He was 71 years of age and a 
Confederate soldier.
