SAM DURROUGH KILLED IN GEORGIA ON SUNDAY

Last Sunday near Texas, Georgia,  Sam Durrough was killed by Lon George. The 
latter as an officer, was searching the former's vehicle for whiskey, we are 
informed and was attacked by Durrough, it is said. The slain man formerly 
lived in Randolph County.  Mr. George is said to have been very vigilant in 
the interest of law enforcement. He was carried to the Carroll county jail to 
await a preliminary trial.

PRELIMINARY TRIAL OF LON GEORGE HELD

Lon George, prohibition enforcement officer of Heard County, Georgia, who 
killed Sam Durrough on June 7th, had a preliminary trial in Franklin, Ga., 
yesterday before three justices of the peace and was held for voluntary 
manslaughter under a bond of $3000. which he made.
