Beulah Baptist Assocation minutes 
TRIBUTE TO ELD. SIMEON EDWARDS. [Written in Sep-1891]
For the tender regard and high esteem in which we hold our aged brother, Eld. 
Simeon Edwards, who is now deprived by reason of age and infirmity, of the 
privilege of meeting with his brethren at the house of worship, we would call 
the special attention of the brotherhood to the valuable service he has rendered 
churches of this Association. And that he is now deprived the pleasure of 
meeting with us. we pray that yon visit him, minister to his comfort for it is 
written that "They that fear the Lord spoke often one to another." We feel it to 
be a great wrong to neglect our aged and worn-out ministers, whose lives have 
been devoted to the service of our Master. By visiting him and ministering to 
his necessities, we thereby prove that we honor and love the cause that he so 
long advocated among us. Brethren, remember that it is more blessed to give than 
to receive.
