RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT ON THE DEATH OF MRS. MARY E. GOODSON, By the Bethel 
Baptist church, Heard County, Ga.

On the 5th of May 1909, God, in his infinite wisdom, saw fit to remove from 
among us one of our beloved members

Mrs. Mary E. Goodson. She was born Aug. 14, 1834. She joined the Baptist 
church at Bethel, in Heard county, when 12 years of age and was a consistent 
member until her death. Her maiden name was Mary E. Ball. She was married to 
W.D. Goodson on March 23, 1854. She was a devoted wife, and loving mother. 
She is survived by two children, two others having passed to the Great 
Beyond. Sister Goodson lived a quiet Christian life, always ready to 
administer to the wants of her neighbors. Before she died she had moved to 
Franklin, Ga., where new friends were made and now are caused to mourn on 
account of her death. Be it resolved;

That we, as a committee and as a church, tender our heartfelt sympathy to 
the bereaved children and grandchildren and point them to God, who doeth all 
things for his glory.

That in the death of Sister Goodson, we have lost a true and consistent 
member of the church.

That a copy of these resolutions be furnished the family, a page of our 
church book given to them and a copy sent also to the Herald and Advertiser 
for publication.
