Jas. McKinzie who died 10 June 1867. Issue of October 25, 1867 Mrs. Othella J. Boyd, wife of C. W. Boyd, and daughter of Dr. L. and P. Watkins was born in Laurens Dist., S. C., May 29th 1831; was married Oct. 5, 1851, and died in Franklin, Heard co., Ga., July 28th 1867, leaving parents, one brother, husband, and four children. Issue of May 29, 1868 Walter Raleigh Pearson, son of Thos. G. and Susan H. Pearson, was born in Heard co., Ga., Dec. 25th, 1845, and died of pulmonary disease, in Tallapoosa co., Ala., April 5th, 1868. L. R. Bell Issue of August 19, 1870 Mrs. Annie A. Johnston, died in Corinth, Ga., July 8, 1870, in the 27th year of her age. She left a husband and three children. L. C. W. Issue of September 30, 1870 Miss Mary Jane Boyd, daughter of C. W. Boyd, was born in Franklin, Heard co., Ga., 24th May 1853, and died 16th August 1870. J. M. Bowden Issue of October 21, 1870 Mrs. Martha G. Hunt, wife of Henry Hunt, died at Liberty Hill, Heard co., Ga., on 16th Sept 1870. She was born in Putnam co., and her maiden name was Hawkins. W. J. Cotter Issue of November 11, 1870 Mrs. Eliza T. Duke, relict of Ferdinand Duke, was born July 15, 1808, and died Sept. 2, 1870 in Heard co., Ga. She was the youngest daughter of James Stansell, who traveled several years as an itinerant preacher. Issue of January 25, 1871 Mrs. Mary E. Lord, wife of W. R. Lord, died of consumption in Heard co., Ga., Nov. 15th 1870. She was a daughter of T. J. and M. E. Latimer, born in Oglethorpe county, March 12, 1836. W. J. Cotter Issue of April 5, 1871 Bro. Robert Spearman was born in Wilkes co., Dec. 28th 1804 from Wilkes, he moved to Jasper co., from thence to Heard co., where he died of dropsy, Jan. 29, 1871. In 1830 he made a profession of religion and joined the M. E. Church at what was then called Sardis, afterwards Harmony. About this time he was married to a Miss King... Robt. Stripling Issue of December 20, 1871 Miss Newdygate A. Moreland, daughter of the late Dr. N. A. and Sarah A. Moreland, was born Feb. 28, 1854, and died at Corinth, Heard co., Ga., Nov. 15, 1871. Issue of January 15, 1873 My father, David Dunlap, died at the residence of his eldest living son, E. O. Dunlap, in Early county, Ga., Dec. 2d 1872, in his 83d year. He was born and reared in Lancaster district, S. C., emigrated to Georgia in 1825 and settled in Jasper county. He lived at different times in Newton, Heard, and Meriwether counties. Two years ago, when my mother died, he was forced to break up, since which time he had lived principally with brother Robert, at whose house he died, occasionally visiting my other living brother Captain S. S. Dunlap, of Macon, Ga. W. C. Dunlap Issue of January 22, 1873 Mrs. M. J. Bullard a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, at Franklin, Heard county, Ga., died on the 5th of Dec 1872, aged 28 years. She was born and raised in Heard county; was left a widow with an orphan boy. Jno. J. little Issue of February 26, 1878 Dr. John Fletcher Moreland was born in Putnam county, Ga., March 20, 1817; died in LaGrange, Ga., at the residence of his son-in-law, Major D. N. Speer, January 30, 1878. He was a member of the House of Representatives from Heard county in 1851 and 1852, and a member of the Senate in 1856. Dr. Moreland married Mrs. S. A.
