Pope was called to Franklin, Georgia yesterday by the serious illness of his mother. - - - NEWSPAPER Issue of Wednesday, April 13, 1927 WEHADKEE News April 12th DEATH OF MRS. MARY JANE POPE Mr. A. J. Pope was called to Franklin, Georgia last week by the illness of his mother Mrs. Mary Jane Pope who died Wednesday afternoon [April 6, 1927]. Funeral and interment were held at Prospect church in Texas, Georgia on Thursday. She was eighty years of age and had been a member of the Baptist church since early womanhood. She was the mother of eleven children, four of whom are dead. She is also survived by 51 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Mrs. Pope lost her husband Mr. William Pope 33 years ago.
