MANY DEMISES AROUND ROANOKE HAVE OCCURRED LATELY

A number of deaths among people well known in this territory have occurred 
in late days. Two of these were sudden deaths, including that of Mr. Warren 
Ridley, which occurred just over the line in Heard County, Georgia on 
Sunday, which is reported elsewhere in this paper.

MR. WARREN RIDLEY DIED SUDDENLY MONDAY A.M.

Many friends throughout east Alabama and West Georgia are shocked to learn 
of the death of Mr. Warren Ridley, prominent and popular citizen of Heard 
County, Georgia, which occurred Monday morning. Mr. Ridley, who was a 
farmer, rode away Monday morning, we are informed, on horseback. Later when 
his horse returned riderless, a search was made and the body of the 
unfortunate man was found on the farm. The funeral and interment will be at 
2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the family burying ground. Mr. Ridley was a 
member of the Baptist church and was about 70 years of age.
