While loading logs on a dray, a log rolled over him, crushing his head and causing instant death. The deceased was about 25 years old and reared in the Omaha community. He was a quiet, sober young man and a member of the Baptist church. His premature death is lamented by many. He is survived by an uncle Mr. John Townsend and a grandmother Mrs. Susan Towns. Funeral services were conducted at Big Springs on Thursday afternoon by Rev. Freeman.
