Mrs. Bird Wood

Franklin - Mrs. Bird Wood, 80, lifelong resident of Heard County, died at her 
home.  She had been in ill health for several years, but her death was the 
result of a heart attack.

Mrs. Wood was a member of one of Heard County's most prominent pioneer 
settlers, she was the daughter of the late Asie and Mrs. Elizabeth Brigman 
Smith.

Funeral services were conducted at Ephesus Church.  Interment was in the church 
cemetery.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Bird Wood, of Frolona, Ga.; two 
daughters, Mrs. Will Graham, Bowdon; Mrs. Monroe Smith, Roanoke, Ala.; two 
sons, Wheeler Wood, of Roopville; Bonnie Wood, Bowdon.


Additional Comments:

Daughter of Mrs. Caroline Elizabeth (Miller) Brigman Smith and 2nd husband, Asa 
J. Smith.   Alice married Robert Bird Wood ca 1892-1893 most likely in Heard 
Co., Georgia.
