I-75S to Exit 70 (McDonough/Hampton), West on GA Hwy. 20 to GA Hwy. 3 (Old Atlanta Road), right. Left on Lake Amah Lee Road. The cemetery is directly left after crossing the railroad tracks at the rear of an existing home. According to county records, Richard and Isabel Jamison Henderson are buried in this site; however, no headstones were evident. The Henderson's were the principal founders of the Hampton Cotton Mills, which was Henry County's leading manufacturing enterprise for many years. These families were highly influential in the community and were charter members of the First Baptist Church of Hampton. William Andrew Henderson was the s/o Richard and Isabel Jamison Henderson, and was married to Clarinda "Clara" Smith. Andrew was active as a Justice of the Peace in Henry County in 1839, and represented the county in the lower house of the GA Legislature in 1859 and 1860. They had nine children. Lucinda Elizabeth Henderson, d/o Andrew and Clarinda Henderson, was married to Thomas McMahon. They had six children. Henry Madison Moore, s/o Hiram Moore II and Elizabeth C. "Betsey" Henderson, was married to Elizabeth Caroline Peebles, d/o Mary Hunter Moseley and Abram H.J. Peebles. Henry served in the Confederate army in Virginia in the Weems Guards, Company A, 44th Georgia Regiment. They had seven children. Richard Henderson Moore, s/o Hiram Moore II and Elizabeth C. "Betsey" Henderson (and brother of Henry Madison), was married to Lucinda Barnett, d/o George V. Barnett, Sr. and Charity Bunn. They had eleven children. Two of their children in this cemetery include Charles Frederick and Edward Othello. Jane Caroline Moore, d/o Hiram Moore II and Elizabeth C. "Betsey" Henderson (and sister of Henry and Richard), was married to Fleming H. Turner (who died in Confederate service Company 1, 1st Georgia Reserves - September 11, 1864). They had seven children. Leonard DeWitt Moore, s/o Richard H. and Elizabeth Moore was married to Sue Snyder. They had one child, Richard. Frances J. McMahon, d/o Lucinda McMahon and Thomas McMahon, was married to L.G. Whittle. It is assumed that Arthur and Ethel are their children.
