Recorded this 2nd day of April 1844. John Goodwin, Clerk. Additional Comments: A copy of the actual handwritten record mentioned above was made at the Salt Lake City Utah LDS Library by a hired research group, and then purchased and transcribed by myself, TJ Malone, as a “labor of love.” It was then proof read by Fred Malone. Every effort has been made to interpret the document correctly, though some mistakes may have occured due to the documents condition, as well as the old handwriting being so hard to read. To help make the reading easier to understand I have added punctuation marks and the capitalization of all surnames. Please report any errors to me by email. The Ira E. Farmer, mentioned in this record is my 3rd Great Grandfather. He is also a brickwall in my Farmer family research. Ira was born circa 1806, in North Carolina. The exact county of NC is yet unknown as well as the names of his parents and his siblings. It is my theory that the John E. Farmer mentioned in this record may be Ira E. Farmer’s brother. It’s also my unproven theory that the James Farmer, R.S. that drew land in the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery while living in Henry County, GA is the father of my Ira E. Farmer and the mentioned John E. Farmer. If you are related to this family, or if you have information/records that might help me with this family research and proving then please, feel welcomed to contact me.
