Mr. Rowan and his family had retired and the fire was discovered by some colored people who were holding a prayer meeting near by and gave the alarm, also loosed the stock and cattle. The barn was a total loss together with farming implements, Tractor, Feed mill and several hundred bushels of oats and wheat, also several bales of cotton seed. The origin of the fire is unknown but it is supposed to have been from some one smoking. This is a great loss to Mr. Rowan as we understand he only had a small amount of insurance.
