The Henry County Weekly
     The citizens of Hampton held a meeting on last Thursday night the 15th, 
for the purpose of nominating candidates for the office of Mayor and 
Councilmen, for the year 1924. Mr. A. B. MITCHAM SR., was nominated for Mayor 
and Messrs. J. L. TURNIPSEED, D. J. ARNOLD, DR. J. B. WELDON, E. R. HARRIS, H. 
M. LOVERN AND R. A . PEEBLES were nominated for Councilmen. The nomination of 
these citizens is equivalent to an election, so this ticket will be elected at 
the regular election. The town of Hampton is a live little city plum full of 
pluck, push and pull and they have elected some good men to serve them as Mayor
and Councilmen for the coming year.
