Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Benefield, and Miss Zilpah Huie, of Riverdale, were guests of Mr. J. H. Benefield and family, last Sunday. Miss Jessie Mae Coogler is in Atlanta, the guest of relatives. Mrs. Ocona Benefield Smith spent last Sunday in Atlanta, guest of Miss Sarah Kate Anderson. Miss Eunice Sims, of East Point, is the guest of her cousin, Miss Kathleen Duffey, this week. Mr. Mercer Wallis, of Atlanta, was a visitor with relatives here Tuesday. Mercer is a skilled printer and holds an important place with the Sunday American. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Murphy, of Fayetteville, were the recent week-end guests of Mrs. B. Deane. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Hanss, of Atlanta, spent the last week-end in Jonesboro with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Stanley, of upper Clayton, were the guests of relatives in Jonesboro on last Sunday. Mr. J. G. Evans, of the firm of Evans Bros., will leave Saturday night for New York and Boston, where he will spend several days purchasing goods the fall and winter trade. Mr. Otis Mann and children, of Buena Vista, are guests of Mrs. Mann's father, Hon. John M. Mundy. Mr. John F. Wallis, of Conyers, was here Tuesday for a visit with the family of his son, Mr. Joe Wallis, and he was also a most welcome visitor to this office. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Holcomb, of Atlanta, were the last weekend guests of the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. Coogler. Mr. J. M. Stanfield, and family, of Hapeville, were the guests of relatives here for several days during the past week. Mr. J. A. Huie, of Riverdale, was in Jonesboro on Monday in the interest of the Flint River drainage district. Mr. and Mrs. K. E. McMullan had as their guests on last Sunday Mr. Boyd Carmichael, of McDonough, and Miss Kittie Mae Mitchell, of Dutchtown. Mr. Delma Stanley, of Atlanta, was with his home folks here on last Sunday.
