We wish her a speedy recovery. ~Mr. R. A. Boatner, and sister, Miss Cora, passed through our town enroute home, last Tuesday afternoon. ~Mr. Johnie Tredwell and Miss Lena Waldrop were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins Sunday. ~Mr. S. W. Whitaker and lady visited Mrs. Whitaker last Sunday. ~Mr. Jim Price and best girl went to Philippi Sunday afternoon. ~Miss Ella Sowell visited the family of Mr. Dorton last week. ~Little Naomi Elkins, one of our talented elocutionists, rendered the “Old Maid” song in quite a winsome way at the society last Friday evening. ~J. T. Hopkins was in Locust Grove on business Monday. ~Mr. James Kimball one of Jenkinsburg’s leading men, passed through our town Sunday. ~Mr. A. Farrar visited our little town the other day. ~Uncle Tom Craig came up to our town last week on special business. ~Messrs. Bufford and Sams gave us a short pop call one day last week enroute to Jackson. ~Miss Mary Woodward‘s school is still increasing, and it is very probable that she will have an assistant if it continues at the present rate. Observer PLOW BOY ~Mr. James G. Kimbell of Jenkinsburg attended services at Bethany last Sunday. ~Mr. Tom Sowell of Locust Grove visited the family of his father last Sunday. ~James Price still continues to go up the road. What’s the matter with you Jim? ~Mr. Luther Duke, accompanied by his mother, visited the family of his brother, Mr. J. S. Duke, last Sunday. ~Lost, one sweetheart. If you want to know the facts, just ask Will Woodward. ~Prof. W. D. Tarpley’s school at Bethany is in a flourishing condition. He has secured the services of Miss Lulu Farris as assistant, he having more pupils than he could manage. ~Wonder if Mr. W. P. Hopkins of Lilah sells his fresh sods by the yard. ~Mr. Alec Norman is making several improvements on his plantation near Bethany. ~Miss Adams of near Hampton, after spending some time with her sister, Mrs. L. A. Daniel, has returned home. ~Will Hopkins has traded his mule that tore the ?bosom? out of the little boy’s pants. ~Willis Goodwin was hauling his best girl last Sunday. ~John Rodgers, accompanied by his sister, Miss Nolly, attended services at Bethany last Sunday. Plow Boy FLIPPEN ~Mr. Terrell Steel, of Clayton, visited relatives near White House, last Saturday and Sunday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rowan were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roe Alexander last Sunday evening. ~Mr. Clarence Harris has decided to quit traveling, and attend to the depot at this place. Clarence is a good fellow, and he will make a good depot agent. ~Mr. J. Q. Nash of Lovejoy, accompanied by his sister, Miss Minnie, visited their Uncle Mr. J. R. Pair, of this place, Saturday and Sunday. ~Misses Nora and Nina Pair were the guests of their Grandmother, Mrs. A. G. Walden, last Sunday. ~Wonder where Will Lovvorn went last Sunday? ~Mr. Henry Conkle was in town one day last week. ~Mr. Blant Rowan has the finest colt in the county. He is only 20 months old, and will weigh about 900 lbs. who can beat that on colts? ~Mr. James Green, who has been in the employ of the East Tenn. Va. & Ga. R. R. is visiting his parents this week. ~Ask Mark Lovvern how he likes Jumbo. ~Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McMullen, of Jonesboro visited the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Walden, last Saturday and Sunday. ~Miss Nora Pair and Mattie Walden spent a short time with Mrs. Cora B. Hill last Sunday evening. ~Wonder where Mr. Hershall Johnson goes every Sunday evening. Succeed old boy if you can. She is a beauty. ~We saw Mark Lovvorn go down toward Dally’s Mill last Sunday. Guess he went to mill. ~Miss Laura Stephens, of Stockbridge spent a few days with Miss Mattie Walden last week. ~Miss Nora Pair, accompanied by her aunt, Mrs. Robt. Rowan, visited her sister, Mrs. Cora Hill, one day last week. ~Miss Lizzie Crumbley, of Stockbridge, is visiting her cousin, Mrs. Lovett Glass this week. M. O. N. Key MCMULLENS ~Mr. W. D. Martin of Butts County has purchased part of the Ammons place near here, and has moved to it. Says he intends to make his home with us. We welcome him and his family to our district. ~Mr. Lon McGarity and lady visited the latter’s parents last Sunday in Butts County. ~There was a musical entertainment at Mr. L. L. Culpepper’s last Thursday night which was highly enjoyed by all present. ~Wonder if John Berry has built a bridge across the branch yet. If not, I guess the path is a very muddy one. ~Your scribe and J. E. Upchurch spent Sunday evening with W. D. Martin. ~Mr. Willie Norton of Rockdale visited his sister, Mrs. C. E.
