S. C. W. , last week. ~Miss Nellie Newman, who has been teaching at LaGrange, is home for the summer holidays. ~Mr. Ray Brown and daughter, of Homestead, Fla., are visiting Judge and Mrs. A. G. Harris. ~Miss Bertha Turner, who taught at Gainesville during the past year is home for the summer. ~Mr. William Brown, of Mercer, arrived last week to spend the summer. ~Dr. Aiken and daughter, Miss Lucile Aiken, of Jenkinsburg, spent Sunday in the city. ~Mrs. Guy Atkinson, has returned from the hospital in Atlanta, and is recovering rapidly, we are glad to learn. ~Prof. and Mrs. R. O. Powell left last Friday for Atlanta, where they will make their home for the summer. ~Mr. H. H. Forbes left Sunday for Milledgeville to attend the graduating exercises where Miss Priscilla Forbes receives her degree. ~Miss Louise Glass is home from G. S. C. W. for the summer. ~Mrs. Dozier-Fields and children are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brittain in Atlanta. ~Miss Ruth Culpepper, who has been teaching at Dublin, is home for the summer. ~Mr. Julian Weems, of the University of Ga., arrives this week for his summer vacation. ~Mr. Ray Brown visited Mr. and Mrs. J. F. M. Fields at the hospital in Marietta, Tuesday. ~Mr. Homer Turner, Jr., of Oglethorpe, is spending the summer at home. ~Mr. Wilmer Turner, of the University of Georgia, returns this week for the summer. ~We are gratified to learn at this writing that Mr. and Mrs. J. F. M. Fields are doing as well as possible. ~Mrs. E. M. Smith and Mr. Ernest Smith have returned form Athens. ~Misses Stella and Kate Russell have returned home after visiting Mrs. Rowena Benning in Atlanta. ~Mr. Tom Brown, of Mercer, arrived Monday for the summer. ~Mr. Willis Copeland, of Jackson, was a weekend visitor to his family. ~Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Greer leave soon for Baltimore, Md., to visit Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Rape. ~Mrs. E. J. Reagan had as her guests Monday Rev. Guy Atkinson, Rev. R. P. Etheridge, Col. R. O. Jackson and Mr. E. M. Copeland. ~We are sorry to learn of the illness of Rev. L. D. King this week. Trust he may soon be out again. ~Miss Sarah King, who has been teaching in Upson County, returned home Sunday for the summer. ~Mrs. Wade Pullin was hostess to the Woman’s Club last Tuesday afternoon. ~Dr. and Mrs. J. G. Smith and Miss Talitha Smith arrive from New York this week. ~Dr. H. M. Tolleson and his fiancée, Miss Mary Beth Mortimer, of Lake City, Fla., were the guests of Mrs. Marvin Turner Saturday. ~Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Ham, Miss Elsie Elliott and Mr. Bail Elliott, of Atlanta, spent last Sunday with relatives here. ~Mr. J. B. Moseley, of Atlanta, was here to enjoy the day, Sunday. ~Mrs. Lew Hutchins and sons of Lawrenceville, are the guests of relatives here this week. ~Mrs. McFarlin, Miss Thelma Pless, Miss Nellie Brannan, of Stockbridge, and Miss Clara Maynard, of Smyrna, were in the city Thursday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Waymond Whitaker, of Conyers, attended the Sacred Harp singing here Sunday. ~Mrs. W. B. Kelley spent the past week in Atlanta with her children, Mr. Frank Kelley and family returning home with her and spending the weekend. ~Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Rosser and Mrs. Laura Rosser and Family and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lindsey and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jinks. ~Miss Julia Stansell spent last weekend with Miss Louise Elliott. ~Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carlyle and Mr. Dyle Carlyle spent last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Sims. ~Mr. and Mrs. Ben Moseley enjoyed the day of Sacred Harp Singing here, Sunday. ~Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Rosser and son, of Atlanta, were in our city, Sunday. ~Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Elliott and Miss Ruth Harkness spent last Tuesday in the Gate City. ~Mr. Bud Farrar and son, of Jenkinsburg, were here at the Sacred Harp Singing, Sunday. ~Mr. Frank Copeland and Miss Lila Copeland visited Mr. and Mrs. J. F. M. Fields in the hospital at Marietta last Friday. ~Mr. Lee McCullough attended the Sacred Harp Singing in our city Sunday. ~Mr. H. M. Turner attended the graduating exercises at Emory University, Tuesday where Dr. H. M. Tolleson received his M. D. degree. ~Mr. and Mrs. Dalton McCullough and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee, of Stockbridge, attended the annual Sacred Harp singing in McDonough, Sunday.
