J. Horton was a visitor to the city Monday. ~Mr. William Amis motored to Atlanta last Wednesday. ~Miss Eunice Hand is visiting relatives in Jackson this week. ~Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jinks spent Sunday with relatives in Jackson. ~We are sorry to learn that Mr. Fred Kelley was operated on Monday, for appendicitis. Hope he will soon be restored. ~Miss Ellene Neal spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Clyde Neal. ~Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Ingram and their guests spent Sunday with relatives at Indian Springs. ~We are glad to see Mr. J. B. Jackson out again after his recent illness. ~Mrs. Bernhard Dailey, of Atlanta, was a weekend visitor of her parents. ~Mrs. Jack Craft and little daughter, of Daytona, Fla., are visiting relatives in the city. ~Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Berry and children, of Atlanta were weekend guests of Miss Berry. ~Miss Margaret Turner spent the past week with Miss Frances Ammons. ~Mr. and Mrs. Harry Walton were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Copeland last Sunday. ~Miss Lucy McDonald is spending some time in Ashville, N. C. ~Mr. Charles Lowe visited Mr. and Mrs. Adam Sloan during the past week. ~Mrs. Gussie Sloan spent last week with her father, Mr. J. L. Atkinson, who has been very ill. ~Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brittain, of Atlanta, attended Mrs. J. F. M. Fields funeral last Saturday. ~Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hollingsworth, of Atlanta, were visitors to the city last Wednesday. ~Mr. Edward Copeland spent several days in Atlanta this week. ~Miss Ruth Dickson is taking a summer course of study at Emory University. ~Miss Sarah Elliott is spending this week in Atlanta with relatives. ~Mrs. Will Stewart, of McBee, S. C., is spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Fields. ~Mr. Willis Copeland, of Jackson, was a weekend visitor to his parents. ~Mr. George Alexander spent Saturday in Marietta with Mr. J. F. M. Fields. ~Mrs. A. M. Nolan and Miss Annie Nolan motored to Macon Sunday to visit the family of Mr. Q. R. Nolan. ~We are glad to learn that Mr. J. P. Austin was able to return home Sunday. ~Mr. Robert McDonald, of Carrollton was a visitor to his sister, Miss Mattie McDonald this week. ~Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hubbard spent Sunday with relatives at Locust Grove. ~Mr. Ed Alexander spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Ida Alexander. ~Mrs. H. W. Copeland, Miss Edna Copeland and Mrs. Blooma Carmichael motored from Griffin Saturday to visit Mrs. H. J. Copeland. ~We regret to learn that Rev. L. D. King, who was removed to Macon Hospital last Thursday, is desperately ill of pneumonia at his writing. We trust he may soon recover. ~Rev. W. W. Arnold and Miss Emma Arnold, of Knoxville, Tenn., attended Mrs. J. F. M. Fields funeral last Saturday. ~Rev. H. M. Tolleson, recently graduated from Emory Medical School spent Sunday with Mrs. Marvin Turner. He left Monday for Smithville, his future home. ~We are sorry to learn that Mr. J. L. Atkinson’s condition remains serious. All of his family spent Sunday at his bedside. ~We are sorry to learn of the illness of Mr. T. A. Sloan, who returned from a trip to Florida last week. Trust he may soon be out again. ~Mrs. Adam Sloan, Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Hooten and family went this week to Savannah to attend the B. Y. P. U. State Convention. ~Dr. and Mrs. J. G. Smith and Miss Talitha Smith arrived home from New York this week. ~Miss Kate Russell returned home Saturday after spending two weeks with Mrs. Rowena Benning in Atlanta. ~We are glad to learn that Mr. J. F. M. Fields is convalescing and will possibly be able to return home this week. ~Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Crowe and Mrs. Joseph Cararas, of Jacksonville, Fla., were the weekend guests of Mrs. C. D. Ingram. ~Mr. and Mrs. Alf Fouche and Miss Helen Fouche were the guests of Mrs. Carrie B. Fouche Sunday. ~Mrs. Odell Rape, of Griffin, was the guest of Mrs. Marvin Jinks last Friday. ~Mrs. Atkinson and Mr. Denver Atkinson returned to their home in Hartwell after spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Atkinson. ~Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Kelley and Mrs. W. B. Kelley motored to Atlanta Monday to visit little Fred Kelley at the hospital. ~Misses Wilma Peebles, Kathleen Derrick, Jane and Cutie Peebles, left for G. S. C. W. Monday. ~Miss Luella Moss has returned home after spending several days in Atlanta. ~Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brisendine and son, Fred Jr., and Miss Annabel Brisendine spent last weekend in Atlanta.
