Bethel, Last Weeks News ~Prayer meeting at the church Sunday night was led by Miss Nina Strawn. The hour for service has been changed to Saturday evening beginning at 6:30 o’clock. Earl Hunt is appointed to conduct the service at this hour. ~Miss Annie Hooten, of McDonough, was a guest of Misses Florence Wynn and Nina Strawn a few days last week. ~Mr. and Mrs. Folivas McCord motored over from Jackson in their new Dodge and spent a while with Mrs. McCord’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. Jones Sunday afternoon. ~F. B. and Franklin Strawn have returned to their work in Atlanta. ~Miss Myrtice Hunt, of McDonough, was circulating among friends and relatives here last week before taking us her school work. ~Mr. O. Jones our syrup maker says there are very few syrup cane patches planted round about this year so there will be very little syrup made in this vicinity. ~Miss Florie Belle Jinks, of Jackson, was a charming guest of Miss Nina Strawn last week. ~Miss Mattie Lee Nail celebrated her birthday with a spent-the-day party at her home Monday of last week, many guests enjoyed her fine hospitality and pleasant entertainment. All join most heartily in wishing this sweet young lady many happy returns. ~Miss Mattie Lee Wilkerson and Coriene Hooten, of Porterdale, are spending their vacation with homefolks. ~Miss Witsie Bledsoe is spending the week with Miss Frances Rivers, at Flippen. ~Miss Lila Bledsoe is visiting her sister, Mrs. Emmett Shaw and attending meeting at New Hope this week. ~The children of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Chasteen, of Locust Grove, were visiting the family of A. F. Polk last week. Daniel’s, (Last Weeks News) ~Miss Agnes Strickland, of Atlanta, is visiting Miss Annie Sue Peek for a few days. ~Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Parr, of Locust Grove spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. Dora Jinks. ~Mrs. A. S. Sandifer spent Monday p. m. with Mrs. Cora Daniel. ~Mrs. Julian Cardell and daughter Vivian, spent Thursday with Mrs. J. R. Coan. ~Mr. M. S. Sandifer, of Carrollton, spent last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Sandifer. ~Misses Cora and Geneva Kelley and Mary Peek spent Thursday p. m. with Miss Marguree Rosser. ~Mrs. J. R. Coan spent Sunday p. m. with Mrs. Laura Rosser. ~Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Daniel spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. T. L. LeGuinn. ~Little A. G. Smith, of Locust Grove, is spending a few days with his Grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Jinks. ~Mr. I. P. Rosser visited Miss Mattie Rape Sunday p. m. ~Mr. J. H. Skinner, of Jackson, is spending a few weeks with his daughter Mrs. Laura Rosser. SO SO Mt. Vernon, Last Weeks News ~Mr. and Mrs. Howard Swann and son spent Sunday with Mrs. T. G. Swann. ~Mr. and Mrs. Cliff White and family of South Ave., spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Swann. ~Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Turpin, and little daughter, spent last Sunday with Mrs. Foster Miller. ~Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Helms, of Atlanta, spent a few days with their son, Mr. W. F. Helms last week. ~Mr. Ralph Harris, of Atlanta, spent a few days with Master Emory Helms last week. ~Miss Lena Helms spent last Monday night with Miss Myrtice Dukes. ~Miss Eunice Helms spent last Monday night with Miss Lila Miller. ~Mr. Chester Pratt, of Atlanta, spent the week-end with Mr. Fred Shaw. ~Mr. Ernest Lewis spent the week end at home this week. ~Mrs. Grady Shaw, of Atlanta, is spending a few days with Mrs. Shaw. ~Miss Emmie Stanley, Margie Stanley spent Sunday with Miss Eunice Helms. ~Miss Lucile Stanfield is spending a few days in Atlanta this week. ~The two weeks singing school was just fine. We sure do appreciate Mr. Pendly for the kindness and work of the school at Mt. Vernon. ~Mrs. W. F. Helms and Mrs. R. F. Helms called on Mrs. T. G. Swann one evening last week. ~Mrs. John Gardner is improving at this writing, we hope she will soon be well again. ~Mr. Bill Gardner of East Atlanta, called on Mr. C. W.
