H. Thompson, was bitten by a mad dog, mention of which sad occurrence was made in this paper at the time. The wound was a bad one, but with proper treatment it healed rapidly, and in two weeks he had almost recovered from the effects of the bite. Last Monday he was taken sick, but with the exception of a headache and an appearance of extreme weariness he exhibited no symptoms calculated to excite alarm. Towards night, however, he grew much worse and Dr. McDonald was called in. He had several convulsions in rapid succession before the doctor arrived. When in the throes of convulsion a light froth oozed from his mouth and he jabbered incoherently, moaning piteously all the while. He frequently called for water, but when it was offered him he shrank from it with a shudder and could not be induced to drink. When Dr. McDonald arrived he unhesitatingly pronounced it a case of hydrophobia, and the symtoms were so plain and unmistakable as to leave no room for doubt. The little fellow lingered in great agony until Wednesday morning, when death relieved him of his sufferings. The grief stricken family have the sympathies of our whole people in their sad affliction. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
