In announcing the names of the new members of this society, Dr. Pierce stated that the great institutions all over the country are conferring this honor upon meritorious students and that the movement is worthy of emulation. The society was organized at Brenau last year, when the faculty conferred this honor upon the twelve students who had made the highest average in their collegiate work for two years, the membership limit being twelve. How great an honor this is, only nine out of the several hundred Brenau students were chosen to receive it. Miss Arnold is a daughter of one of Hampton’s and Henry County’s best and most prominent citizens, Dr. R. J. Arnold, and a young lady of great beauty and charm of person. Those who know her are not surprised at this honor for they know she deserves it and are congratulating her that this excellent institution has recognized and rewarded her merit.
