Zion, 2nd Ola, 3rd School Exhibit Hampton, 1st Pleasant Grove, 2nd Stockbridge, 3rd Baby Contest Judges of baby contests want the public to know that the contest was not for “beauty” but for the healthiest most normal baby. Where there is health there is beauty. 39 babies from all parts of County were entered. Of the 39 babies examined, 23 were found with out any defects. The judges though that all 23 babies without defects ought to be given a prize but they knew it had to be sifted down to 1st, 2nd and 3rd, prizes. In judging it was taken into consideration if baby was normal in height and weight, in measurements of head, chest abdomen. If a baby was too much over weight, it counted as much against baby as if it were underweight. Babies that have always been nursed regularly by the clock, and weaned at proper age were put ahead of babies that were nursed when ever baby cried. Baby Contest for most normal baby.
