W. WARD, Deputy Sheriff A. D. TINGLE and Chief of Police, Talmon PATILLO, of McDonough, last Tuesday morning in the Sixth District. They caught the distillery running in full blast, and captured three men, Mr. J. H. SUTTLES and R. F. MCHUGH, both white who gave their residence as being near Hapeville, and one Negro, Dan WEBSTER, of the Sixth District. The men were heavily armed, but Sheriff WARD and his party took them on surprise and arrested them before they could draw their guns. The distillery was a new outfit and a large one, and was destroyed together with a large amount of beer, and about two gallons of whiskey was captured. The parties running the distillery, had their new Ford car parked a few hundred yards from the scene and it was also brought in by Sheriff WARD. This is perhaps one of the most daring captures that has been made in the county in years, as the men were heavily armed but the officers were to quick for them. The men are now in jail awaiting trial.
