March 19, 2002 BELLAH Mildred Cardell Lindsey Bellah, 80, of Dunwoody and formerly of McDonough, died Monday, March 18, 2002. Mrs. Bellah was born May 9, 1921, to John and Trudie Cardell, one of seven children. Mrs. Bellah had a strong Christian faith and lived a life of service to others. She began her work career in factories to help support her family, always longing to be a missionary. Later, she and her husband, William Howard (Bit) Lindsey would own Lindsey's Grocery in the Ola community. After Mr. Lindsey's death, she worked at Westbury Nursing Home in McDonough, where she met and married Mr. Bellah. After her retirement, Mrs. Bellah continued serving others at Henry Medical Center as a member of the women's auxiliary (The Pink Ladies) in the mid-to-late 1980s. Mrs. Bellah was a member of the First Baptist Church of McDonough for more than 25 years, where she volunteered extensively until her illness. She served in numerous capacities, including president and vice president of her Sunday School class, The Gleaners, and sang in the Senior Adult Choir, and was a member of the Lila Copeland Baptist Women. She was also a member of the Viva Rawls Owens World Bible Fund and the Joyful Bunch senior group. WEAVER Albert Lamar Weaver, age 100, of High Falls Road, Jackson, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Sylvan Grove Hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1902, in Butts County, son of the late Oscar Little Weaver Sr. and Alberta Arlene Thaxton Weaver. He was a retired farmer and dairyman. Mr. Weaver was a member and deacon at the Towaliga Baptist Church and has served as church clerk. Mr. Weaver has served as a Butts County registrar and had been a member of the Butts County Democratic Committee. His wife of 69 years, Jane Etheredge Weaver, preceded him in death on Sunday, March 24, 2002. The service in honor of the life of A.
