MAYS On March 29, 2002, Dr. Aldine (Dean) M. Mays, went to be with the Lord. A family physician for 35 years in Stockbridge, the town in which he was born, he provided medical care with great love and compassion. DR. MAYS SERVED HIS COUNTRY WITH PRIDE AS A GREEN BERET FLIGHT SURGEON IN VIETNAM, RECEIVING TWO BRONZE STARS, AIR MEDAL AND ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL WITH VALOR. As an ordained minister, Dr. Mays had a great burden and compassion to care for the indigent people of the world. Serving as the hospital physician in Sudan gave him a strong desire to establish medical care facilities to all who were in need. He was used by God in Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Guam and Puerto Rico to minister to the medical and spiritual needs of many. He desired to be remembered as a man who loved God and was used by him. Survivors include his wife, Donna; mother, Louise Mays of Stockbridge; children, Rebekah Mays of Stockbridge, Aldine Marcus and Yvonne Mays III of Locust Grove, Kelly Mays of Marietta, Melinda and Roy Drukenmiller of Hapeville, Cheryl and Doug Banks of Sarasota, Fla., Grant Franklin Mays of Anaheim, Calif; sister, Joan Mays Cobb of Stockbridge; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
