Dr. Charles SANFORD, age 60, of Forest Park died at noon Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002. He was born Aug. 2, 1942, in McKenzie, Ala., and was Pastor and Founder of Christ Center Tabernacle in Jonesboro. From humble beginnings, God used him as Pastor, international evangelist, vocalist, author, television minister, and advisor to many international ministries. This man of God had an impact on millions around the world. His tapes, books, record and sermons will continue God's work for generations to come. His book " Against All Odds" is in demand today because it speaks of the times before he was near death and God brought him out. This time God allowed him to rest. His ministry, however, will live on. His devoted wife Sheryl, daughters Kristy and Terri, and son, John, worked in the ministry with him. If there was a human being interested in helping people by ministry, it was Dr. Sanford. Christ Center tabernacle was founded in 1968, in College Park, where Dr. Sanford and his wife co-pastored. Christ Center Tabernacle remained at the same location until June 2000, when it was relocated due to airport expansion to 8049 Fair Oaks Court in Jonesboro. The new facility was dedicated in July 2002. Dr. Sanford oversaw the construction of the building, and he and his wife did much of the work themselves.
