Mrs. Martha Moore FOSTER, 94, of Atlanta and formerly of Henry County, died Nov. 30, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 ears, Harvey Hugh Foster Sr. She was retired from the Georgia State Library Systems. 
She is survived by her son, Hugh and Barbara Foster of Decatur; grandson, Steven and Julianne Foster of Burwell; granddaughters, Crystal and Terry Evans of Norcross, Susan and Jimmie Burns of Vidalia; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Hannah Evans, Sara, Jennifer, Amanda and Christopher Foster, and Rebecca and Kathleen Burns; and several nieces and nephews. 
Visitation was held Sunday. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in Resthaven Garden of Memory.

Gloria Dantzler BEVINS, 73, of McDonough, died Nov. 30, 2002. She was born March 14, 1929, in Sumter, SC, to the late Herbert Solomon and Edith Lowder Dantzler. She was a retired nurse, teaching nursing at Georgia Baptist and Grady hospitals, was former director of nursing at Starcrest Nursing Home, teacher at Mt. Carmel Christian School and a member of Philippi Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Don Bevins; daughters, Margaret Gailey, Lilburn; Dona Powell, Griffin; sons, Marc Bevins, Locust Grove; the Rev. Donald Bevins, Toccoa; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday from the chapel of Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Joey Seabolt officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends on Sunday.

Mr. Barnie F. CARTER, age 81, of McDonough, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002.
He retired from Norfolk-Southern Railway and was a member of the McDonough Presbyterian Church. DURING WORLD WAR II, HE SERVED IN THE U.S. MARINE CORPS IN THE PACIFIC THEATER.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Floral Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dudley Rose officiating.
Survivors include his loving wife Jan; daughter, Ann C. Ferguson of McDonough; son, Richard K. Carter of Lawrenceville; grandsons, Shaun Carter of Atlanta and Christopher Jason Carter of Lawrenceville; granddaughter, Jaime Ferguson of McDonough; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. William (Bill) WEBBER, 74, of Stockbridge, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2002.
MR. WEBBER SERVED IN THE U.S. MERCHANT MARINES IN WORLD WAR II, and retired from Eastern Airlines as a supervisor with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of The Rock Baptist Church, the Hapeville Masonic Lodge, and the '57 Chevy Club. He was an avid woodworker and was the owner of "The Woodshed." Most recently he had been employed by Hertz Distribution for approximately 10 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, with Dr. Ronnie Spillers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Webber; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald S. and Donna Webber of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah W. and Stan Creecy of Jonesboro; brother, Robert Webber of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Margie Webber of Newnan; grandchildren, Sean Creecy, Kristen Ramsey, and Stephen Webber; several nieces.

Mrs. Jo An YOUNG, age 68, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. Her parents, Ivey T. and Annie Lord Thompson, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Dean Haun officiating. Church services will follow at 3 p.m. at Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church in Bleckley County with burial in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Hubert "Shorty" James PRICE, 74, of McDonough, died Dec. 4, 2002, at Henry Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 24, 1928, in Lovejoy, the son of the late Lois Myrtle Turner and Samuel Hubert Price. HE SERVED HIS COUNTRY IN THE U.S. ARMY FROM 1950 TO 1956 WITH THE MP BATTALION, and worked as a lineman with Georgia Power for 45 years before retiring in 1988.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Fraternal Lodge No. 37 F.&A.M. of McDonough, and Henry County Moose Lodge No. 2170.
Hubert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen Tarleton Price, of McDonough; children, Christy and Bob Knight of McDonough, Mark Price of Jackson and Robin and Brad Rowland of McDonough; grandchildren, Kyle Knight, Kelli Knight, Leslie Murray, Mallory Rowland and Mollie Rowland; sister, Callie Crumbley of Hampton; and brother, Wilbur Price of Hampton. A sister, Myrtle Lackey, preceded him in death in 1997. 
Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lyle Fox and Dr. Tom Bagley officiating.
Interment will be at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Peggy Ann McCullough MCCOY, 68, of Conyers, passed away on Dec. 4, 2002.
In her lifetime, she made her mark on Atlanta as an employee of Trust Company Bank for more than 20 years; and around the world, as vice president of World Ministries Inc., working with her husband in 142 countries. She was a faithful member of Peoples Baptist Church in McDonough, where she was director of videography.
She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, the Rev. Hugh I. McCoy; daughter, Bonnie Lovelace of Chesapeake, Va.; her sons, Hugh McCoy Jr. of Snellville, Dr. David A. McCoy of McDonough, and Mark McCoy of Lawrenceville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 6 at Horis A. Ward's Rockdale Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Peoples Baptist Church in McDonough on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. with Dr. David McCoy officiating. Gary SCOTT, 42, died Dec. 5, 2002. He was born Feb. 29, 1960, in Atlanta, Ga., and was a buyer for Easy Rental.

Frank A. "Bud" WEAVER III, born July 27, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Frank A. Weaver Jr. and Grace Causey Weaver, died December 7, 2002 in his home in Kingwood, Texas at the age of 70. MR. WEAVER SERVED HIS COUNTRY IN THE U.S. NAVY DURING THE KOREAN WAR. For 20 years he worked for George Weaver Inc., custom home builders in Kingwood and The Woodlands. He was an outdoorman, enjoying fishing and hunting, and as a member of Kingwood County Club, he also enjoyed golfing. In his youth he played basketball, baseball and football, and in recent years still liked watching sports. But his real passion was his family, for whom he had infinite patience and always a good ear for listening. Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife of 52 years, "Betty" Weaver; mother, Grace Weaver of McDonough, GA; daughter, Kimberly A. Koch, her husband, Richard and their children, Ashley and James Koch of Mesa, AZ; sons, Robert A. Weaver, his wife, Lynne and their daughter, Katherine Nicole Weaver of Mobile, AL, and Terry F. A memorial service for Royce Olin "Buck" LEWIS, 86, of Conyers will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, with the Reverends Mackie Hawkins and Jim Ferguson officiating.
Mr. Lewis was born in Rome, Ga., Dec. 2, 1916, the son of the late George D. and Jennie H. Lewis. He moved to Atlanta in 1948 with his wife and together raised their children, later relocating to Conyers in 1974.
HE WAS A WORLD WAR II ARMY VETERAN, SERVING TWO AND A HALF YEARS IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC. He returned to serve as a Georgia State Patrol officer prior to working in the Trucking Business.

Mrs. Lenore Kathryn Gilstrap NEWELL, age 75, of McDonough, Ga. died Dec. 10, 2002 at Henry Medical Center. She was born July 30, 1927 in Fulton County, the daughter of the late Hattie Estelle Ogle and Raymond W. Gilstrap. Mrs. Newell is survived by her children, Clay and Judy Newell of McDonough, and Raymond and Barbara Simmons of South Carolina; sister, Margie Scoggins of Elberton, Ga.; grandchildren, Keith Simmons, Tracy Simmons, Kristy Chapman, Brian Newell, Ashley Newell, and Gerald Newell and nine great grandchildren. Yolanda DELAGARZA, 55, of Stockbridge, died Dec. 11, 2002, at Henry Medical.
Mr. DeLagarza was born in Mexico City, Mexico and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Gerardo DeLagarza of Stockbridge; daughter, Yolanda DeLagarza of Norcross; son, Gerardo and Sandra of Jackson; sister, Carmen Alanis of Mexico City, Mex.; brother, Eduardo Ramirez of Mexico City, Mex.; grandsons, Gabriel DeLagarza and Joshua DeLagarza, both of Jackson.

Christopher "Chris" MOORE of Barnesville, husband of Frances Teal Moore, entered into rest Dec. 10, 2002 at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Born Aug. 13, 1951 in Atlanta, Mr. Moore was a retired firefighter and paramedic in Henry County and a ranking platoon chief.
Additional survivors include his mother, Tallulah Moore of Cumming; three brothers, Don Moore of Cumming, Frank Moore of Ovieda, Fla., and Tim Moore of Kittering, Pa. and one sister, Jane Moore of Augusta.

Mrs. Card was born April 5, 1930 in Smithtowne, Ga. to the late Versie Adell Lee and Lonnie Joe Lee. 
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Junior Card of Riverdale; children, Susan Card and Lee Voyles of McDonough, Loretta and Houmpheng Kongphilia of Jonesboro, Jill and Peter Hazard of Jonesboro; sisters, Minnie Cooper of Marietta, Jean Reed of Buford, Shirley Sweat of Brasselton and Carolyn Lee of Athens; brothers, Jerry Lee of Gainesville and Randy Lee of Jefferson; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Eloise Huckaby ROWAN, 76, of Hampton, died Dec. 13, 2002, at Portsbridge Hospice in Conyers. Rowan was born June 25, 1926, in Henry County, the daughter of the late Tommie Hatten and Otis R. Huckaby. 
She was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church for 61 years, retired lunch room worker for the Henry County School System for 26 years, local leader of the Blackjack 4-H Club, founding member of Camp Fortson, member of Kitchen Kuties and Master 4-H Club. 
Survivors are children, Mike Rowan of Conyers, Judy Barnett of Columbus, Cathy Patterson of Hampton, Connie Dodgen of Hampton and Bonnie Phillips of Rex; sister, Edna Whitaker of McDonough; brother, Robert Huckaby of Florence, S.C.; sister-in-law, Velma Huckaby of Griffin; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 15 at Hampton United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Lewis, the Rev. Charles Hanley and the Rev. John Alexander officiating. Interment was at Berea Cemetery in Hampton.

Marjorie HALL, 79, of Atlanta, died Friday, Dec. 13, in DeKalb County. She was born Jan. 7, 1923.

Mr. Charles Albert CAMPBELL JR., 73, of McDonough, Ga., died Dec. 16, 2002. He was born June 16, 1929 in Fulton County the son of the late Tressie Rickerson and Charles Albert Campbell Sr.
Mr. Campbell was a member of Stockbridge Presbyterian Church and co-owner of Campbell Decorating Co. of Atlanta for 50 plus years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna C. Kimmerer, in 1976. 
Survivors are his wife, Peggy Pope Campbell of McDonough; children, Chuck and Joan Campbell, Stan and Karen Campbell of McDonough, Greg and Kellie Campbell of Stockbridge; Charlene Campbell of Jenkinsburg and Darlene and Darryl Tew of Locust Grove; sister, Peggy and Bill Graham of Woodstock; brothers, Norman and Polly Campbell of Marietta and Bobby and Kay Campbell of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Kellikisha Leatherman, Nicole Tew, Donna Campbell, Rebekah Campbell, Dean Campbell, Lindsey Smith, Rachel Campbell, Cara Campbell, Beth Campbell, Katie Campbell, Tyler Campbell and Todd Campbell; great grandchild, Nathaniel Leatherman.

Mrs. Elaine Squance MCPARTLAN, age 70, of McDonough, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002.
She was born Sept. 11, 1932, in New York, daughter of the late Rose Hitzegrad and Edwin Squance. She attended St. James Catholic Church, was a member of the Audubon Society, and a volunteer with Hospice. Her daughter, Jeanne McPartlan, preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2000.
A memorial service for Mrs. McPartlan will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, with Father Michael Sherliza officiating. 
Survivors include her husband, John McPartlan of Syosset, N.Y., and daughter, Diana McPartlan of Syosset.

She was born July 7, 1926 in Fulton County, a daughter of the late Lewis Alford and Hattie Mable Porter. Mrs. Sudduth was the widow of Virgil Henry Sudduth Sr.
Survivors include her son, Virgil (Moe) and Lanice Sudduth Jr. of McDonough; daughter, Mary and Spencer Smith of Lilburn; sister, Mable Dimsdale of Hapeville; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

James Harris SIMS, age 76, of McDonough, died Dec. 21, 2002 at Henry Medical Center.
Mr. Sims was born May 1, 1926 in Henry County, the son of the late Bessie Mae Upchurch and James Melvin Sims. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, served his country in the U.S. Army, and had retired from Uniroyal.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ellen Tomlin Sims of McDonough; children, Ron and Barbara Sims of Fayetteville and Cindi and Howard Palmer of McDonough; brothers, Charles and JoAnn Sims and Warren and Mary Sims of McDonough; grandchildren, Matt Sims, Brittany Palmer, Chad Palmer, Josh Sims and Melissa Palmer; great-grandchild, Jaime Stephens.
Funeral services for Mr. Sims will be Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Lewis officiating. Interment will be at Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Brenda Louise Smith HAWKINS, age 57, of Locust Grove died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Henry Medical Center. Brenda was born Oct. 28, 1945, in Steinman, Va., daughter of the late Mary Edith Bell and Matt Hugh Smith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Charles J. (C.J.) CARTER, age 82, of Stockbridge died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002.
DURING WORLD WAR II MR. CARTER SERVED IN THE U.S. ARMY. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stockbridge, where he was an active member in the Omega Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 in the Chapel of Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Steve Murell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jennie; sons, Donald and Pat Carter of Miami, Fla., Kenneth and Karen Carter of Plano, Texas, and Carl and Nancy Watkins of Fayetteville; daughter, Pamela and Jimmy Mabry of Marietta; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Earl B. (Buster) COX, age 66, of Eatonton died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002.
He was an air traffic controller and served our country in the Air Force.

Mr. Josiah Ray FULTON, age 21, of Annandale, Va. and formerly of Hampton, Ga. died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002.
He was born Nov. 4, 1981, in Selma, Tenn., son of Loretta Stelline Smith Wolf and David Allen Fulton. Josiah was a member of Berea Christian Church in Hampton, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps under the White House Protection Program.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29 at Berea Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Leslie officiating. Interment will follow at Berea Cemetery in Hampton.

Mrs. Jean Marie Seckendorf ROBERTS, age 63, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at the Henry Medical Center.
Mrs. Roberts was born March 1, 1939, in Somerville, Mass. to the late Howard Nickerson Seckendorf Sr. and the late Mary Angela White Seckendorf. She was former owner of Gables Restaurant on 42 Highway for 8 years, and was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Austin Fogarty as Officiant. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Marcia McKenzie DANIEL, 56, a resident of McDonough, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, in a Cleveland, Tenn. hospital.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland, and had formerly attended the University of Chattanooga. She was an active volunteer, serving as treasurer with the Henry County Middle and High School wrestling teams. Her father, James L. McKenzie, and husband, James L. Daniel, preceded her in death.

He was vice president of operations with Bennett Truck Transportation, served in the United States Marines and was a life-time Methodist.

Marie Neal HAYES, 81, of McDonough, died Dec. 28, 2002, at Westbury Nursing Home. Hayes was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Walker County, Ga., the daughter of the late Eula Jane Henderson and John Cleveland Neal. Hayes was a member of Phillips Drive Baptist Church, a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby English, in 1998. 
Survivors are children, Martha Ann Hayes of McDonough, William and Linda Hayes of McDonough, and Sandra and Dale Carlsen of Douglasville; sisters, Vera Elizabeth Neal of Rex and Vinnie Lee Mattke of McDonough; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Muriel officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Forest Park at 4:30 p.m. The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening.

James Benjamin DELK SR., age 77, of Stockbridge, died Sunday. Dec. 29, 2002, at Portsbridge Hospice in Conyers, following an extended illness.
Born in LaGrange, Ga. March 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Benjamin Holliman and Dera Foster Delk. HE WAS AN U.S. AIR FORCE AND U.S. NAVY VETERAN, HAVING SERVED IN WORLD WAR II. He was a retired automobile salesman and of the Lutheran faith. His brother, Neal Delk, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 from the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with full military honors, provided by Rabun County D.A.V. Chapter 15 and Habersham County American Legion Post 84.

Mrs. Belle Rosser HAMMOCK, age 95, of Locust Grove passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at the Westbury Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hammock was born March 17, 1907, in Henry County to the late Moses Jefferson Rosser and the late Laura Skinner Rosser. Her husband, James Madison Hammock, preceded her in death. Mrs. Hammock was a graduate of the Barnesville A&M, was a secretary and teacher at the Locust Grove Institute, and was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the Locust Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Mendum, the Rev. Ken Haag, and the Rev. Craig Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
