(Tuffy) Murray Jr.; and his wife, Mary Jane, of McDonough, Ga.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many loving cousins, nephews and nieces. After finishing school at Miami Sr. High School, O.C. worked for what became known as Byron's Red Cross Department Store, and then for 34 years as a mechanic for Pan American Airways, from which he retired in 1976. He and Ginnie were members of the Pan Am National Retirees' Association, the Pioneers Club of Miami and the Natives of Dade. They were also active and enthusiastic members and supporters of Metrozoo, the Parrot Jungle and Gardens and Fairchild Tropical Garden. November 24, 2003 Barbara Walko VALENTINE (nee Carrigan), 77, died Sunday, Nov. 9, with her family by her side in Atlanta. Born and raised in Little Falls, N.J., Valentine lived in Sparta, N.J. for more than 50 years before moving to her daughter's home near Atlanta last year. Valentine attended Penn Sate University and graduated from Butler University. She earned her master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1977. She was an elementary school teacher in Sussex County until her retirement from Sparta Township Schools in 1981. Valentine worshiped at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. She was an avid collector of dolls and coins. History was her interest and as a hobby she researched and constructed miniature historical rooms. When her children were younger she was a leader in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts; as well as a supporter of local youth sports. She was an active member of Questors, P.E.O., the Sparta Woman's Club, the Lake Mohawk Golf Club, Lake Mohawk Country Club, the American Association of University Women, New Jersey Education Association, Sussex County Retired Educators Association and Delta Gamma Sorority. She had also been a member of the Children Writer's Society. She was the wife of the late Russell Valentine and previously widowed of the late John Walko. Her brother Ralph Carrigan of Waretown, N.J.; her children Donna Melton of McDonough, John Walko of Clayton, N.C. and Kathleen Wilson of Leesburg, Va.; and five grandchildren (Kathy Walko, John Walko, Morgan Walko Bell, Sarah Melton and Katie Wilson) survive her.
