The Henry County Weekly, October 19, 1923
     We regret to note the death of Mr. J. H. Hand which occurred at his home 
near Morrow in Clayton county last Tuesday after an illness of only a few days 
duration. He was a former citizen of this county and was about 60 years of age, 
and is survived by his wife, and eight sons, and five daughters, all of whom 
are married, except his youngest daughter. He was the father of fifteen 
children, thirteen of whom are still living. His remains were laid to rest at 
Mt. Carmel church in this county Wednesday. He was a brother of the late Mr. W. 
F. Hand, of McDonough, who died several months ago and had a large number of 
friends and relatives in this county.
