MR. HARVEY JENKINS DIES AT HIS HOME NEAR OLA

     It is with keen regret that we note the death of Mr. Harvey Jenkins which 
occurred at his home near  Ola last Tuesday morning, after an illness of only a 
few hours duration. He was at work digging his potatoes Monday afternoon when 
he was taken suddenly sick and continued to grow worse until Tuesday morning 
when death relieved  him of his sufferings. Harvey Jenkins was a good man, who 
proved it by his life every day and he will be sadly missed by his friends and 
loved ones. He was about 46 years of age and leaves a loving companion and one 
child about 18 months old and is also survived by his aged father, Mr. G. W. 
Jenkins, Sr.; three brothers and one sister and a large number of relatives and 
friends. He was a member of Sharon Baptist church and lived in upright and 
strait forward life and was a good example to follow after by his friends and 
fellow citizens. He was a member of the Ola String Band that made such a hit at 
the Fiddlers Convention in McDonough on the last day of the county fair and 
little did his friends think then as they heard him playing, “ In the Sweet By 
and By” that it would be the last time they would ever hear him play it. This 
was his favorite selection on the violin, but the next time his friends hear him
play it will be when they meet Harvey in Heaven. His remains were laid to rest 
at Bethany church Wednesday afternoon after appropriate funeral services 
conducted by Rev. I. G. Walker. Ellis-Setzer Co. Funeral Directors in charge.
