Ike was born Sept. 17th, 1875, died Aug. 29th, 1896. While it is known to every human being that there is an hour appointed in which they must die, this sad hour always brings sorrow and sadness to our hearts. Ike being a working Christian, he was at all times ready to labor for the cause of Christ, for the growth and progress of his church and Sabbath School, and for the pleasure of his many friends and associates who so frequently gathered around him to enjoy his bright sunny smiles and unlimited generosity. Every phase in his life thoroughly convinced friends and associates that he was a true follower of the meek and lowly Savior, who went about doing good, and feeling as we do that in his death we recognize an afflicting dispensation of Providential dealings with us as a Sabbath School, causing a loss which we deeply and sorrowfully regret. Therefore be it resolved by Moore's School House Sunday School, that in the midst of this affliction and attending loss it becomes us as Christian workers to endeavor more to improve our spiritual condition and efficiency for usefullness, by cultivating in ourselves the commendable qualities and traits of character so constantly exemplified in the life of Ike Nipper. Although we feel this irreparable loss most keenly, why should we mourn when he after a brief but well spent life and repeated struggles with pain and disease so sweetly rests in peace? So do not let your heart be over burdened, since he has made such a peaceful voyage across the stream of death. Ike went out on the bark manned and piloted by him who said "He that believeth in me though he were dead, yet he shall live again." We should rather rejoice that the struggle of life is over, the victory won, and strive by the help of God to meet him where parting is no more. His is an Eternal home by the river of life, where leaves never drop nor waters fail, but where eternal springs abide. Here we may hear a heavy cross, Our hearts grow sore with pain and loss, But there in God's Eternal day His hand shall wipe all tears away. To know Ike was to love him. Sleep on, Ike, we all in Heaven shall meet again. After the funeral service conducted by the pastor, Rev. Spencer, his remains were interred at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, in Henry County, in the presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives, to await the resurrection morn. We tender our deepest sympathy to the grief stricken family.
