In Henry county, on the 1st inst., Mr. JAMES R PERRY, aged 48 years. The deceased was a native of North Carolina, but in early life removed to this State, and for several years had resided near this city. He was extensively known throughout this community, and his loss must be severely felt. Though quiet and unassuming in his manners, he still, as a citizen, commanded universal esteem. He was distinguished for an unimpeachable moral character and sterling integrity. His word was a bond; and if an honest man is the noblest work of God, then was our departed friend worthy of that respect which he enjoyed. He left cheering evidence to his friends, that he had been for some time prepared for an exchange of worlds. He bore the sufferings attendant upon a protracted and most painful illness, not merely with manly fortidude, but with christian resignation. he leaves a desolate widow and several children, to deplore their loss, and bear witness to his many virtues as a husband and father.
